Subscription Update Obituary

Reginald A. “Reg” Ploof, 83, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 2, 2023 at home surrounded by his loving family. He leaves his wife of almost 30 years Janet (Olson) Ploof; 4 children- Christopher Madarasz and his wife Tracey, Kimberlee Rizzuto, Scott Ploof and his wife Becky, and Raymond Rizzuto III and his wife Crystal; 10 grandchildren- Anthony, Stephanie, Courtney, Andi, Zac, Jeffrey, Tammy, Haley, Vincent, and Addison; 3 great-grandchildren- Grace, Jack, and Teddy; many nieces and nephews, grand nieces and grandnephews. He was predeceased by a son Joseph Ploof, his former wife Diane (Vigeant) Ploof and by 9 siblings.

“Reg”, as he was affectionately known, was born in Burlington, Vermont, son of the late Arthur and Ella (Hemmingway) Ploof. He graduated from Burlington High School in Vermont and proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. He worked as an outside salesman for New England Wheel and Truck Co. for many years selling truck and automotive parts. He enjoyed bowling, playing horseshoes, and camping. He was an avid New York Yankees fan and served as a cub scout master and youth bowling leader.

A calling hour will be held on Thursday, July 6, 2023 from 9:30-10:30 a.m. in Nordgren Memorial Chapel 300 Lincoln St. Worcester. A funeral service will follow at 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park in Paxton. In lieu of flowers, donations in Reg’s name may be made to St. Jude’s (www.stjudes.org).
