Subscription Update Obituary

     Raymond A. LaPan, 80, passed away on Sunday, October 25, 2015 at St. Vincent Hospital after an illness. He was born in Marlborough, the son of Jacob and Hazel (Goslette) LaPan and had lived in Spencer before moving to Paxton 2 years ago.

He leaves his loving wife of 47 years, Caroline A. (Nowak) LaPan; three sons, Mark E. LaPan and his wife, Louise of Boylston, Craig A. LaPan and Jyll of Lancaster and Todd M. LaPan and his wife, Karen of Spencer; his brother, Shepley LaPan of Worcester; four sisters, Margaret Lucci and Carlene Gannon both of Worcester, Evelyn Mullane of Hudson and Louise Lucia of Boylston; four grandchildren, Nicholas, Kayla, Aidan and Emma; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by several siblings.

After graduating from high school, Raymond served his country and enlisted in the Army National Guard in Worcester. In 1958, he transferred to the U.S. Air Force and was an Airman 2nd Class until 1962. He worked for several companies including Digital Corp in Northborough for many years before retiring in 1993. Raymond enjoyed camping, traveling and spending time with his family.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours from 5 to 7 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 30, Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street, Holden. Funeral services for Mr. LaPan will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 31, in the funeral home followed by a committal service at Worcester County Memorial Park in Paxton. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Town of Paxton Ambulance Dept., 576 Pleasant St., Paxton, MA 01612.
