Subscription Update Obituary

     Randy C. Nichols, 63, of Worcester, passed away on Thursday, December 2, 2010 in UMass Hospital, after a long battle with Cutaneous T Cell Lymphoma.

     He is survived by his wife of thirty-one years, Gail M. (Tower) Nichols; three daughters, Jennifer, Michelle and Sara Nichols all at home; his mother, Elizabeth (Nichols) Nichols of Northborough; three brothers, Steven Nichols of Worcester, Alan Nichols of Painesville, Ohio and Jeffrey Nichols of Worcester; a sister, Kathie Nichols of Northborough and four nephews and extended family and friends. Randy was born in Worcester, son of the late Robert E. Nichols. He grew up in Northborough, graduated from Algonquin Regional High School and Quinsigamond Community College before attending Worcester State College and later moved to Worcester in 1979. He served his nation proudly in the United States Air Force and was stationed at Nellis Air Force Base in Nevada.

     Randy worked for the past eighteen years for Hanover Insurance as a mail handler, having previously worked as a buyer in purchasing for twenty years at Riley Stoker in Worcester. He was a member of Trinity Church in Northborough, The Worcester Lodge of Elks, and was a long time bowler with the Tuesday night mixed league at Town and Country Bowl. He loved the Red Sox and New England Patriots.

     Randy’s Funeral will be held on Tuesday, December 7th, at 11 a.m. in MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester, preceded by Calling Hours on Tuesday morning from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. in the funeral home. Interment will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton.
