Subscription Update Obituary

     Phyllis E.M. (Hale) Brown, 95, passed June 12, 2015 after a long and rewarding life. Her husband Arthur T. Brown passed in 1991. She is survived by her nieces, Beverly Beauvais and Joyce Beauvais along with many grand nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister, Thelma Derby. Mrs. Brown was born in Sherbrooke, Quebec, Canada on October 25, 1919, the daughter of the late Harold D.A. Hale and Mary E. (McClatchie) Hale. She was raised and educated in Worcester graduating from Worcester South High School in 1938. Phyllis then lived in Millbury before moving to Grafton in 1964. Mrs. Brown worked 18 years at General Electric Telechron Division in Worcester and Ashland and then at Davis Publications in Worcester for 15 years retiring in 1981. Phyllis was a member of The I.B.E.W., AARP and The Forest Lane Association where she was The Vice President and Board Secretary. Mrs. Brown was a longtime active member of The former North Grafton United Methodist Church, singing in the choir and serving on many different committees. She also became a member of Aldersgate Methodist Church in Worcester while living at Beaumont Nursing Home in Northbridge. Phyllis suggested that at the time of her passing people would remember her with donations to The Grafton Food Bank, PO Box 321, Grafton MA 01519.

Funeral services will be Tuesday June 16th at 1: pm at the First United Methodist Church of Westborough, 120 West Main St. (Rt. 30, across from Westborough Country Club) in Westborough. There will be a viewing and her family will receive people at the church from 12 to 1 pm prior to the funeral service. Following the service she will be laid to rest next to her husband at Worcester County Memorial Park on Richards Avenue in Paxton MA. Funeral arrangements are in the care of The Roney Funeral Home in North Grafton.
