Paul F. Bopp, longtime resident of Auburn, died gracefully Sunday, September 14, 2014 two days shy of his 84th birthday at Southbridge Rehab & Healthcare Center, Southbridge, where he had resided since April. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Jean (Stenlund) Bopp; his daughter Cynthia Bizzarro & her husband Anthony Bizzarro of Holden, his daughter Susan Scott & her husband Stevan Scott formerly of Auburn, 3 grandchildren, Kimberlyn Evers, Timothy Scott, Gianna Bizzarro and 2 great grandsons, Elijah & Benjamin. Paul was the son of the late Frederick & Ruth (Green) Bopp of Worcester.

He graduated North High School in 1948 and Worcester State Teachers College in 1952. Mr. Bopp taught in the Worcester Public School system for 38 yrs., spending the majority of his career teaching the 4th grade at May St. School.

Paul generously shared his time, wisdom, life lessons and stories with anyone who would ask. He was a member of Belmont St. Baptist Church in Worcester, as well as Faith Baptist Church in Auburn. Over the years, he mentored young men, led church youth groups, a boys’ club called Christian Service Brigade, nature training camp and Sunday School classes. He loved to travel, especially by bicycle, photographing nature and landscapes along the way. Paul Bopp was an encouraging teacher, friend and father who lived to show others how to have peace with God. He is already dearly missed.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Paul’s family on Friday, September 19, 2014 from 10-11AM in the Britton-Wallace Funeral Home, 91 Central Street, Auburn. A service celebrating his life will begin at 11 AM. Burial will be private. Donations can be made to Turning Point Ministries.
