Subscription Update Obituary

     Patricia A. (Healy) Derby, 82, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by her loving family on Friday, March 24, 2017. Patricia was born in Worcester and grew up in Boylston, the daughter of Mary G. (Brown) and Frederick F. Healy.

She was predeceased by her husband, Ralph F. Derby in 2013. Patricia is survived by her sons, Stanley Kokernak of Rochdale and Kevin R. Derby of St. Petersburg, FL; step-sons, Kevin P. Derby of WV and Ralph F. Derby, Jr., of Fitchburg; her daughters, Karen Nortey of Spencer, Denise Lammi of Townsend, Cynthia Carroll of Spencer and Helen Tourigny of Westerly, RI; her brothers, James Healy of Boylston and Paul Healy of Worcester; 19 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Patricia was predeceased by her step-son, Jeffrey Derby as well as 6 brothers and 6 sisters.

Patricia attended Commerce High School and had various jobs over the years. More recently she worked in the kitchen of Digital’s Conference Center. She enjoyed spending time at the Sterling and West Boylston Senior Centers and loved to play Dominos and Bingo with her friends. Patricia’s true passion in life was her family and she loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a calling hour from 11 a.m. to noon, followed by a funeral service on Wednesday, March 29, 2017 at the Miles-Sterling Funeral Home and Tribute Center, 100 Worcester Rd., Sterling. A committal service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday April 10, 2017 at Worcester County Memorial Park, 216 Richards Ave., Paxton. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Memory of Ralph to Alzheimer’s Association, National Organization, 225 North Michigan Ave., Floor 17, Chicago, IL 60601-7633.
