Osler K. Coonan, 92, passed away peacefully at St. Vincent’s Hospital on Tuesday, October 12th. Her husband, of 39 years, Walter Coonan died in 1988.

She leaves a daughter, Patricia Frankian and husband Mark of Sutton, two granddaughters Katelyn Maxwell and husband Andrew, Julie Connor and husband John, two great grandchildren, Jack and Harper Maxwell all from Millbury, several cousins, and three very special people in her life, cousin Sherry Wolons of Spencer, friends Mary Magnuson and Jean Smith of Rochdale. She was predeceased by her mother and father, Avis and Francis Myles of Rochdale.

As a young girl of 20, she went to work at Worcester Tool & Stamping of Rochdale. Seventy years later at the age of 90, she retired only because the company was sold. She considered the people at WT&S her second family and up until a couple weeks ago would still go back to visit. Fondly termed as Big Gram, she cherished trips with her grandchildren to Cape Cod and Disney and often spoke about them being some of the best times of her life. Dancing with Walter was a favorite pastime as they would glide across the dance floor. She loved working on ceramics, gardening, feeding the hummingbirds, and you couldn’t keep the shovel out of her hands in the winter. Her big heart and great sense of humor will be missed by all.

Family and friends are invited to remember and celebrate Osie’s life with a time of visitation on Wednesday, October 20th from 10 to 11:00 a.m.at Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 N. Main Street in Millbury where there will also be a short funeral service at 11:00 a.m., followed by the burial at Worcester County Memorial Park in Paxton.

In lieu of flowers, online contributions may be made in Osler Coonan’s memory to: www.curearthritis.org Or mailed to: Arthritis National Research Foundation, 19200 Von Karman Ave., Suite 350 Irvine, CA 92612.
