Subscription Update Obituary

Olive F. (Morin) Rabidou, 96, passed away on Tuesday, March 15, 2022, at Dodge Park in Worcester. She was born in Auburn, the daughter of Arthur and Marie Sophie (Metivier) Morin and lived most of her life in Holden.

Her loving husband of 49 years, Ernest E. Rabidou, passed away in 2000. She leaves her son, Ronald Rabidou and his wife, Ann Kremers of Bennington, VT; her daughters, Paula Mercurio of West Boylston and Susan Rabidou Marchand and her husband, David of Worcester; nine grandchildren, Corrina, Sheila, Stacy, Jason, Donna, Jaclyn, Laura, Francesca, and Dulce; several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son, Allen Spangenberg; her granddaughter, Sheri Spangenberg, and her son-in-law John Mercurio; and by eleven brothers and sisters.

Olive graduated from Auburn High School. During World War II, she worked with the Massachusetts Committee on Public Safety in Auburn. After raising her family, she went back to work as a bookkeeper at several area companies, including Reed Roll Thread, Capitol Toy, and Demers Auto. She was a member of St. Mary’s Church and enjoyed reading, listening to music, playing games, making jigsaw puzzles, visiting Old Sturbridge Village, and vacationing with her children in Ogunquit, Maine and on Cape Cod.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Olive’s family from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. on Monday, March 21st in the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street, Holden followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. in St. Mary’s Church, 114 Princeton Street, Jefferson. Burial will follow at Worcester County Memorial Park in Paxton.
