Subscription Update Obituary

     Oliva “Philip” Luneau, 87, passed away on Sun. Nov 26, 2017 at the Whitcomb House in Milford where he had been a resident the past 4 years. His wife of 21 years Eleanor A. (Vecchione) Berardi Luneau predeceased him on May 23, 2011.

He is survived by a step daughter Amy A. and her husband Rick Cundall of Douglas; a step son Michael T. and his wife Marie Berardi of Grafton; 3 grandchildren, Geoffrey Arnold, Madison Berardi, and Ashley Berardi. He was predeceased by 3 siblings.

Born on March 26, 1930 Phil was the son of Philias and Florina (Ethier) Luneau and grew up in Worcester. He had lived in Douglas 23 years before moving into the Whitcomb House in Milford. He worked for the former Norton Co. in Worcester for many years, then for the Douglas Transfer Station for 18 years up until his retirement in 2010. He was a member of St. Denis Church, and the Douglas Senior Center. He enjoyed playing the harmonica, singing, dancing, and loved to take trips with Eleanor to Foxwoods and Twin River Casinos. Phil was always quick with a smile, and was very open and friendly. He served in the US. Air Force Airman second class during the Korean War.

His funeral will be held Wed. Nov. 29, 2017 from Jackman Funeral Home, 7 Mechanic St. Douglas, with a Mass at 11am in St. Denis Church, 23 Manchaug St. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Calling hours at the funeral home will be held prior to Mass from 9:30-10:30am.
