Norma L. (Hill) Spongberg, 83, beloved wife of the late Roger Spongberg, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 16, 2020 at the St. Mary Health Care Center in Worcester. Born in Fitchburg and raised in Worcester, she was a daughter of the late Albert and Hester (Hyatt) Hill.

Norma was a graduate of North High School. After moving to Holden and raising her family, she became the office manager for the dental practice of Dr. Michael Gull until his passing. She always looked forward to the family summer vacations to various parts of the US. In her spare time she would occasionally visit a casino or try to figure out the daily number. Other than spending time at the local ballfields watching games, she would be glued to the TV for nearly every Red Sox, Celtics, Bruins and Patriot games and vent about why they lost.

She will be lovingly missed and remembered by her son, Paul Spongberg and his wife, Patti of Jefferson and her grandson, P.J. Spongberg of Jefferson, whom she adored. In addition to her husband and parents, she was recently predeceased by her brother, Robert Hill.

The family would like to offer sincere thanks to the tireless staff at St. Mary Health Care Center who made her final years comforting.

Norma will be laid to rest beside her husband at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Susan G. Koman Foundation, 13770 Noel Road, Suite 801889, Dallas, TX 75380. Arrangements are under the care of Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street, Holden.
