Subscription Update Obituary

     Nancy M. (Anderson) Cavanaugh, 80, of Dudley passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 17th surrounded by her family. She leaves her beloved husband of 55 years, Matthew W. Cavanaugh; two daughters, Anne M. Cavanaugh of Auburn and Monica E. Gilbody and her husband, Paul of Sutton. She also leaves her grandchildren, Danielle Doe of Madrid, Spain, Caroline Gilbody of Sutton, Andrew Hutner and Claire Hutner both of Auburn. She was predeceased by her brother, John R. Anderson.

Born in Worcester, Nancy was the daughter of the late John E. and Anna I. (Flood) Anderson. She graduated from the former High School of Commerce and worked at the former Guaranty Bank. Nancy and her husband were the owners and operators of Hvizdos Package Store in East Douglas for many years.

An avid traveler, Nancy eagerly explored many parts of the world, including China, South Africa, Egypt, Singapore and many areas of Europe. Nancy had many dear friends and enjoyed spending time with them.

Nancy’s family would like to thank the staff at the Beaumont Rehabilitation Center of Worcester and the staff at St. Vincent Hospital for all the care and kindness they showed to her.

Her funeral is Wednesday, November 23rd from O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue, Worcester with a Mass at 11:00 AM in North American Martyrs Church, 8 Wyoma Drive, Auburn. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Calling hours are Tuesday, November 22nd from 5:00 until 7:00 PM in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Salvation Army, 640 Main Street, Worcester, MA 01608.
