Nancy E. (Asselin) Genese, 71, passed peacefully on Monday, September 25, 2023, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Worcester and raised in Paxton, Nancy was the daughter of the late Edward and Grace (Loughnane) Asselin and lived the last 65 years in Paxton.

Nancy was a graduate of the class of 1970 at Wachusett Regional High School and received a degree in business administration from Quinsigamond Community College in 1993. She worked at All America Insurance Co. for thirty-two years retiring in 2003.

She was a passionate soul who found joy in life’s simple pleasures. She was a woman of many talents, and her love for reading, crocheting, and gardening defined her in the most beautiful way. Nancy was a remarkable woman who brought warmth, creativity, and an insatiable love for life, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever remain in our hearts.

She will be lovingly remembered and missed by her husband of forty-four years, Gene Genese; her brother, Robert Asselin and his wife, Signe of Vermont; her cherished God-daughter, Daini Bayham and her daughter, Isla Mae of Phoenix, Arizona; several cousins; her grandchildren by marriage, Giancarlo, Maria, and Clementine; and close friends, Dorene Kolofsky of Rutland and Barbara Ushkurnis of Paxton.

Relative and friends are invited to visit with Nancy’s family from 9 to 10:30 am on Friday, September 29th at Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main St., Holden, followed by a procession to St. Columba Church, 10 Richard’s Ave., Paxton, for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 11 am. Interment will follow at Worcester County Memorial Park in Paxton. Charitable donations may be made in Nancy’s memory to a charity of one’s choice.
