Subscription Update Obituary

     Myra Louise Brooks, 61, of Worcester, died Monday, February 17, 2020.

She was born in Worcester, daughter of the late John S. Brooks and Elmira (Suprenant) Gagnon. Myra was a longtime member of the former Holy Name of Jesus Church and now St. Peter’s Church. She worked as a Nurse’s Aide at the former City Hospital for many years. Myra also worked at the concession stand in Worcester City Hall alongside her trusted seeing eye dog, Cassie.

Myra is survived by six siblings; Sharon Boucher of Worcester, Ralph Brooks of Millbury, George Brooks of Webster, Donna Lee Hennessey of Webster, Joseph Brooks of Worcester and Margaret Boucher of Worcester. She also leaves several nephews and nieces including Ruby Aponte, and Rosa and Mario Polanco, all of Worcester and several great nieces and great nephews. Myra was predeceased by her brother, John S. Brooks, Jr. and two sisters, Debra Davenport and Rita Polanco.

Visiting hours to celebrate Myra’s life will be held Sunday, February 23rd from 3:00-5:00 p.m. at Callahan, Fay & Caswell Funeral Home, 61 Myrtle Street. Myra’s Funeral will be held on Monday, February 24th from the funeral home with a Mass at 10:30 a.m. at St. Peter’s Church, 931 Main Street. Burial will follow at Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton.

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Myra may be made to the Hermansky-Pudlak Syndrome Network, HPS Network, One South Road, Oyster Bay, New York, 11771-1905.
