Subscription Update Obituary

Michael James Jackson, 65, of Seoul, South Korea, died Saturday, November 25th. He leaves his wife BokJa; three sons John Jackson and his wife Carolyn of Missouri; James Jackson of Arkansas; Michael Jackson ll of Ohio; a daughter Michelle Jackson of Ohio; eight grandchildren, Karsen, Kylie, Ashlynn, Jayce, Madison, Viviane, Nitro, and Maximus. He also leaves a sister, Donna (Jackson) Hamalainen of Worcester and a brother Phil Jackson of Worcester; as well as his loving niece, Sharon Guidaboni and nephew Matthew Hamalainen.

He was born in Worcester, the son of Robert and Joan (Hipp) Jackson. Mike served in the US Army Military Police Corps retiring as a Staff Sergeant in 1995. He served in a number of different countries including West Germany, South Korea, Somalia, Kosovo as well as a number of military posts throughout the US. He worked as a civilian in a number of different roles for the US government. He settled down in Seoul as the Director of Security at the Dragon Hill Lodge Military Hotel. Mike was a New Englander at heart loving his Boston sports teams.

Mike’s funeral is Thursday, December 28th at 11:00 at St. John’s Church on Temple Street in Worcester. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park. An hour of visitation will be held from 9:30-10:30 in the church prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Project New Hope, 70 James St., Worcester.
