Subscription Update Obituary

     Melika (Ulubey) Piligian, 91, passed away on Thursday June 15, 2017 with her loving family by her side. She was predeceased by her husband, Paul H. Piligian Jr., in 1991.
Melika is survived by four daughters, Betul Fiorello and her husband Ronald Fiorello, Renee Mason and her husband Richard Mason, Darlene Price and her husband Stephen Price, and Gina Zalauskas and her husband Leonard Zalauskas.
Ten grandchildren, Angela Bruso, Kristin Butler, Jake Price, Matthew Fiorello, Michelle Fiorello, John Fiorello, Mark Mason, Chelsea Mason, Leonard Zalauskas, and Paul Zalauskas; two great grandchildren, Rushton and Rowan Bruso.
She was predeceased by her sister Aniza Hoyen and her two brothers Manuyel Ulubey and Naomon Ulubey. Melika was born in Elazig, Turkey, daughter of the late Lusya and Abdunnur Ulubey.
Melika loved her family and found tremendous joy in her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved to sing and dance. She was a talented seamstress and tremendous cook. She will be fondly remembered for her charming personality, her smile, and all the love and laughter she brought into the lives of those she touched.
The family wishes to extend their heartfelt thanks to all the staff at the Jewish Healthcare Center along with the Hospice Division, for their care and support during her stay there.
Relatives and friends are invited to gather for calling hours on Monday, June 19th, from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. at O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue, Worcester. Her funeral service will be at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, June 20th at First Congregational Church, 1070 Pleasant Street, Worcester. Following the Funeral Service, a procession will depart for Worcester County Memorial Park in Paxton, where she will be interred beside Paul. Donations may be made in her memory to the Armenian Church of the Martyrs (to benefit the Building Renovation Fund), 22 Ormond Street, Worcester, MA 01609.
