Subscription Update Obituary

     Matthew T. Brennan, 91, of Winslow Avenue died Thursday, Jan 8 in his home after a long and happy life.

He leaves his wife of 58 years, Hazel L. (Powers) Brennan, four sons; Matthew M. Brennan and his wife Deborah of Leicester, Peter J. Brennan and his wife Julie of Colorado Springs, CO, Thomas E. Brennan of Southwest Harbor, ME and Robert C. Brennan and his wife Tina of Spencer, ten grandchildren; Jackson, Zachary, Powers, Cate, Maddie, Joe, Jack, Michael, Matthew & Colby and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his first wife Marguerite (McCabe) Brennan, a daughter Patricia Brennan, a brother Christopher Brennan and a sister Alice Clancey.

Mr. Brennan was born in Worcester, son of Matthew M. and Mary (Tarpey) Brennan. He was a salesman at the Boston & Maine Railroad and various trucking companies for many years retiring in 1985. He served his country during WW II in the United States Army. He was a member of St. Pius X Church, American Legion Cherry Valley Post 443, Worcester Elks, Worcester Traffic Club, Senior Bowling League, and Wachusett Traffic Club. He served as a Selectman in the Town of Leicester several years ago. He enjoyed golfing, bowling and reading. The family would like to thank Summit Eldercare in Charlton with a special thank you to Sandra, his home health aide, for her wonderful care and compassion.

A funeral service will be held Monday, Jan. 12 at 5:00PM in MORIN FUNERAL HOME, 1131 Main Street, Leicester. Burial with Military Honors will be held Tuesday, Jan. 13 at 11:30 AM in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. A calling hour will precede the service from 4:00-5:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Cherry Valley American Legion Post 443 Scholarship Fund, 167 Main Street, Cherry Valley, MA 01542.
