     Mary P. Alger, 93, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 31, 2015. She leaves 2 daughters and their husbands- Dorothy and Robert Sykes of Burlington and Elizabeth and Michael Shaw of Florida; 5 grandchildren- Melissa Puopolo and her husband David, Brian Sykes and his wife Wendy, Douglas Sykes, Meghan Shaw and Caitlyn Shaw; 5 great-grandchildren- Alexander, Benjamin, Matthew, Samantha, and Nathan; a sister-in-law Barbara Sullivan; and a nephew David Sullivan. Mary was pre-deceased by her husband Roger W. Alger, 2 brothers- John and Bernard Sullivan, and a sister Julia Sullivan. Mary was born in Worcester, daughter of the late Emma and Jeremiah Sullivan. She graduated from Worcester Girls Trade School and worked as a waitress in various restaurants over the years. She was a member of St. Joan of Arc Church in Worcester and enjoyed quilting and embroidering. A calling hour will be held on Monday, April 6, 2015 at 9:00am in Nordgren Memorial Chapel, 300 Lincoln St., Worcester. A funeral Mass will follow at 10:00am in St. Joan of Arc Church, 570 Lincoln St., Worcester. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton.
