Mary (Knight) Desy, 72, passed away Wednesday, October 27, 2021 at home after a long illness.

She was born in Worcester, daughter of the late David F. Knight and Antoinette F. (Lorusso) Marriott. She graduated from South High School and David Hale Fanning as a Licensed Practical Nurse. Mary worked at Memorial Hospital for 25 years, and then for UMass Memorial Home Health until it closed.

Mary leaves behind her daughter Brenda Diggs and her fiancé, Bobby Sanders, and three granddaughters, Dominique, Ava and Mykaila Diggs. She was predeceased by her daughter Lee Desy on October 28, 2019. She also leaves her former husband, Thomas Desy in Florida, several aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. She was also predeceased by her stepmother, Gertrude Knight.

Mary enjoyed spending time with her family and her many trips to Hampton Beach and other tropical areas over the years. Her home-cooked meals and top chef-style baking will be missed by all who knew her, especially her famous chocolate cake.

A special thanks to Bobby Sanders and Ralph Knight for their help during her declining health. Thank you also to Dave, Jim and Rocky from Lindcare for their service.

As per Mary’s wishes there will be no calling hours. All are invited to gather at St. John’s Church, 40 Temple Street to celebrate a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00am on Saturday, November 6th. Burial will be private at a later date.
