Subscription Update Obituary

     Mary Jane Konrad, 81, a lifelong resident of of Pleasant Street died Wednesday, June 8th. Mary Jane , “MJ”, “Janie” is survived by her four nieces : Pamela Konrad of Clinton, Karin Brown and her spouse Chuck of Sterling, Kristina Walsh and her spouse Fran of Princeton and Cynthia Konrad of Sterling, ten great nieces and nephews, three great grand niece/nephew, and her uncle Thomas Davis of Oregon. She was predeceased by her brother David L. Konrad in 1991.
Mary Jane was born in Worcester, daughter of the late John S. and Florence R. (Davis) Konrad. She graduated from Leicester High School and attended Umass Amherst and Clark University. Mary Jane worked at the former State Mutual Insurance Company where she utilized her proficiency in English as editor of manuals, trainer and retired as a consultant after 35 years of service. Mary Jane was blessed with many lifelong friendships which included her elementary schoolmates, her neighbors, former coworkers, and the many people she met along the way. She enjoyed traveling with many trips to Bermuda, Eustis and Portland ME and years of enjoyment on her sailboat in RI . Mary Jane also valued time for herself to pursue her other interests of reading, crossword puzzles, history, antiques, and maintaining her home with pride and tradition. Her strong will and determination will continue to be admired and the many memories, generosity and thoughts shared will remain a gift to her family and friends. A special acknowledgement and thank you to Dr. Edward Driscoll for his concern , respect and care for Mary Jane over the last 30 years which is so appreciated.
A Graveside service will be held Saturday, June 11 at 10:00 AM in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Mary Jane has requested that in lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Leicester Food Pantry, P.O. Box 333, Leicester, MA 01524. MORIN FUNERAL HOME, 1131 Main Street, Leicester is directing funeral arrangements.
