Subscription Update Obituary

     Mary E. (Kenward) Griffith 90, of Crestwood Ave., died Friday, Jan. 2 in Harrington Memorial Hospital in Southbridge.

She was the wife of Edward L. Griffith, Sr. who died in 2004. She leaves her daughter Susan L. Provo of Spencer with whom she lived, two sons Edward L. Griffith, Jr. and his wife Barbara of Ponte Vedra Beach, Fl., and Walter J. Griffith and his wife Barbara of Wrentham, her sister Roberta LaPierre of Northborough, five grandchildren David W. Provo, Jr., Kim Simonovitch, Tracy Caforio, Michael and Matthew Griffith, 9 great grand and 4 great great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by a brother Percy Kenward and sisters Norma McDonald and Doris Cook, and her son in law David W. Provo, Sr.

Born in Spencer, she was the daughter of Percy and Annie Mae (Fairbrother) Kenward and later graduated from David Prouty High School in 1942. She was a department manager for 35 years at the former Eddy’s of Park Ave. in Worcester, retiring in 1990. She was a member of the Lashaway Senior Citizens Club and AARP. She enjoyed crochet, crossword puzzles, reading and long walks on the beaches of Florida.

Funeral services in the J.HENRI MORIN & SON FUNERAL HOME, 23 MAPLE Terr., Spencer are private with burial to follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the First Congregational Church of Spencer,Pastor’s Benevolent Fund, P.O. Box 187, Spencer, Ma. 01562.
