Subscription Update Obituary

Mary D. Minor-Storms, 64, passed away Wednesday, January 19, 2022 at UMass Hospital in Marlborough.

She was born in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, daughter of the late Vernal and Fannie C. (Minor) Patton and graduated from Doherty High School. She was a longtime member of Second Baptist Church.

Mary was predeceased by her husband William Storms and son, Bernard Johnson. She leaves four children, Rashad Minor of Worcester, Jeffrey Johnson of New Hampshire, Owen Minor of Worcester and Daphne Smith of Worcester. Nine grandchildren, Cualyn Minor, Niiyel Johnson, Pariz Minor, Bernard Johnson Jr., Leyla Minor, Amaren Minor, Alondra Minor, Ramiel Ocasio-Minor and Enzo Minor. Mary also leaves her brother John Patton of Worcester and many nephews and nieces and was predeceased by a brother, William Patton.

Mary was very active at You Inc. and has helped many children throughout the years. She enjoyed cooking and playing spades with family and friends. Spending time with her family was what Mary enjoyed most and will be forever remembered for her witty personality.

Visiting hours will be held Thursday, January 27 from 6-8pm at Callahan, Fay & Caswell Life Celebration Home, 61 Myrtle Street. Mary’s Funeral Service is 10am on Friday, January 28th at the Second Baptist Church, 14 Hammond Street. Please gather directly at church. Burial will follow at Worcester County Memorial Park in Paxton.
