Subscription Update Obituary

Martin J. Waite, 85, passed away peacefully at home on February 25, 2024, surrounded by his family. Marty has now joined the love of his life Constance A (Cassulis) Waite who predeceased him in 2022. Born in Worcester and raised in Leicester, he was the son of the late John Waite and Josephine (Bocian) Waite.

Marty graduated from Worcester Boys Trade High School and worked for several manufacturing companies in Worcester, retiring from Allied Corporation in 1988. Marty honorably served his country for 3 years in the U.S. Army National Guard of Massachusetts.

He was a faithful member of St. George Church in Worcester where is spent many days with the rosary and prayer groups. In his spare time Marty, enjoyed fishing with Connie and working in his garden tending to his beautiful flowers as well as his vegetables which he shared with the neighborhood. He enjoyed spending time especially at the pool and holidays with his neighbors, Tom and Joann Ducharme, who he thought of as family.

Marty will be lovingly missed and remembered by many of his close friends and neighbors. In addition to his parents Marty was predeceased by his sisters, Rita Pierson, Joyce Gould, Judith Henault, and his brother Thomas Waite and several nieces and nephews.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Fairlawn Rehabilitation Hospital and the VNA Care & Hospice who took such wonderful care of Marty during his illness.

Relatives and friends are invited to gather with Marty’s family from 9:15 to 10:30 am on Monday, March 4, at St George Church, 38 Brattle St., Worcester, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 am. Marty will be laid to rest next to his beloved wife at Worcester County Memorial Park in Paxton. In lieu of flowers, Memorial donations may be made to St George Church, 40 Brattle St., Worcester, MA 01606. Funeral arrangements are under the care of Miles Funeral Home of Holden.
