Subscription Update Obituary

     Mark D. Cherry, 57 of Camelot Dr., died suddenly Thursday, Dec. 11 in St. Vincent Hospital, Worcester.

He leaves his lifelong soul mate and best friend, his wife of 16 years, Robin A. (Schofield) Cherry, his mother Doris I. (Caldwell) Cherry of Leicester, his sister Susan A. Bulman and her husband Frank of Rochdale, his brother Brian T. Cherry and his wife Florenceanne of Leicester, a sister in law Andrea Cherry-Collins of Grafton wife of Mark’s brother James A. Cherry who died in 2004, a niece and many nephews.

Born in Worcester, he was the son of the late Douglas T. Cherry Jr. who died in 2008. He graduated from Leicester High School in 1976 and Worcester Vocational Technical School.

Mark was a machinist for Coppus Engineering in Worcester for many years and also worked at Masterman’s in Auburn.

He attended many car shows over the years and was obsessed with his award winning 1930 Model “A” hotrod which he built. He was a member of the Leicester Tourquers Car Club, The Worcester Lodge of Elks #243 and Christ Episcopal Church in Rochdale.

Mark’s funeral will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 16 at 10 a.m. in Christ Episcopal Church, 1089 Stafford St., in the Rochdale section of Leicester. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Calling hours are Monday, Dec. 15 from 4 to 7p.m. in the MORIN FUNERAL HOME, 1131 Main St., Leicester. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to UMMF – Organ Transplant Fund, c/o UMASS Medicine Development Office, 333 South St., Shrewsbury, MA 01545.
