Our beloved Marion Florence Fulginiti passed away on August 16, 2022, in Pacific Palisades, California at 97, surrounded by her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Born on November 4, 1924, to Florence and Alfred Montville, Marion grew up in Worcester, Massachusetts, graduated from South High School, and worked as an inspector of submarine detectors and a nurse’s aide during World War II.

Shortly after the war ended, she met Pasquale (“Patsy”) Fulginiti, a US Navy sailor, who swept her off her feet. They got married at St. Peter’s Church, had four children, and made West Boylston, Massachusetts their family home. Marion devoted her life to her family and was a loyal supporter and advocate for the causes that were close to her heart. She loved to travel and enjoyed many winters on Marco Island, Florida with friends and family playing tennis, fishing, watching the dolphins, and enjoying the spectacular sunsets on the beach.

Marion was a woman of great faith, led by example and will always be remembered by those she touched as being kind, compassionate, resilient, and selfless. She never sought the spotlight but was always the one who shined the brightest. She is preceded in death by her husband and by her daughter Gayle Fulginiti, and her sister and brother Carlene Walker and Clarence Montville. She is survived by her brother Donald Montville, son Thomas Fulginiti, daughters Patricia Whelan and Mary Fulginiti Genow, grandchildren Tara Kyman and Gisele Genow, and great-grandchildren Bode and Ronan Kyman.

Marion’s Celebration of Life will take place on September 3, 2022, 11:00 a.m. at St. Columba Church in Paxton, Massachusetts.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Wrentham Developmental Center, Attn. Bill Burke, 131 Emerald Street, Wrentham, MA 02093. Checks payable to: Special Gift Fund. Memo Line: In memory of Marion Fulginiti. Alfred Roy & Sons Funeral Home 12 Hammond St. Worcester, MA is directing arrangements.
