Marilyn D. (Lemerise) Mazurka,88, of Park Ave., died peacefully in her home, on Wednesday, May 17th.
She was the wife of Albert B. Mazurka, Sr. who died in 1994. She leaves her sons; Alan D. Mazurka and his wife Susan of Fitchburg and Andrew P. Mazurka and his wife Lisa of Sutton, her fiance of 21 years; Richard W. Daigle of Sturbridge with whom she lived, her sister; Carol Lee and her husband Robert of Niceville, FL., four grandchildren; Justin Rooney of Rochdale, Melanie Mazurka Flynn and her wife Meredith of Sommerville, Elizabeth Rooney and her partner Beth Monahan of Worcester and Renee Appert and her husband Ted of Chicago, IL., a great granddaughter Hailey Rooney, nieces and nephews. She also leaves her extended family which includes Richard’s children; Richard, Donna, Daniel, Debra and Douglas and their families whom she loved as her own children. She is predeceased by a son; Albert B Mazurka, Jr., a daughter; Marcella Rooney and a brother Daniel Lemerise.

She was born in Worcester, the daughter of Daniel O. and Dorothy (Best) Lemerise and later graduated from Leicester High School. She was active in Palmistry, fortune telling and the reading of cards. She was a member of the Senior Citizen Club of Leicester and attended the Leicester Senior Center.

Calling hours at the MORIN FUNERAL HOME, 1131 Main St., Leicester will be held on Sunday, May 21 from 2 to 4 p.m. A graveside service will be held privately in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Suite 250, Framingham, MA 01701.
