     Marie A. (Schaffer) Mulrain, of Worcester, a dedicated wife. mother, grandmother and friend passed away peacefully with the family she loved gathered by her bedside Saturday, June 20th 2015, after period of declining health. Marie was born in Worcester on August 12th 1961, a daughter of Frederick and Edna (Nideur) Schaffer. She grew up in Worcester, moved to Millbury as young women and graduated from Millbury High School. On June 19, 1982 in St Stephen’s Church, Marie married her love and life Robert A. Mulrain. Together for the next 33 years they raised their family and lived life with love and devotion on Grafton Hill. Marie worked for the City of Worcester School Department as a teacher?s aide for 20 years in various schools retiring due to illness. Marie at onetime operated her own Children?s Daycare out of her home. Besides her husband Bob, she leaves two children, Robert A. Mulrain, Jr. of Worcester, Nicole M. Kumor and her husband Zbigniew of Auburn; two grandchildren she truly adored and cherished, Timothy and Olivia; a brother, Frederick Schaffer Jr. and his wife Donna and sister, Brenda Collins and her husband Robert all of Oxford; Nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Her twin sister, Bernadette Schaffer passed away at birth. Marie was a member of St Stephen Church. She dearly loved her job and all the children that she cared for both at the daycare and through the years in school. She loved family vacations in Hampton Beach, entertaining family and friends around the pool, and just celebrating holidays and special times with her family. They were the most important in her life. Family and friends are invited to visit with the family Wednesday, June 24th from 4 pm to 7 pm in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St. Her funeral will be held Thursday, June 25th from the funeral home with a Mass at 11:00 am in St Stephen’s Church, 357 Grafton St. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers memorial remembrances in her name can be made to VNA Care Hospice, 120 Thomas St Worcester 01608 or St Stephen?s Church restoration fund, 357 Grafton Street Worcester 01604.
