Subscription Update Obituary

     Marguerite T. (Gully) Cobill, 89, of Worcester passed away Saturday, August 12 in St. Mary’s Healthcare Center, surrounded by her family.

Her husband of 45 years, Earl H. Cobill died in 1993. She leaves three children, Paul H. Cobill and his wife, Mary Lou of Worcester, Jack H. Cobill and his wife, Pam of West Boylston and Linda M. Cote of Worcester; seven grandchildren, Timothy, Brian, Alissa, Daniel, Michael, Angela and Andrew and two great-grandchildren, John Patrick and Kaylee Marie. She was born in Worcester, daughter of John J. and Mary A. (Begney) Gully and graduated from Worcester Girls Trade School.

Marguerite was a certified nurse’s assistant at Wayside Nursing Home, for several years before retiring, prior to that worked at State Mutual Assurance Company. Marguerite loved her family time, whether it was on Cape Cod or watching her favorite team, the New England Patriots or big Christmas Eve parties with her famous dill dip. She had a quick wit and was a strong and loving woman. Nana also enjoyed reading, country music line dancing, watching Mass on TV or looking for a bargain on QVC.

A Funeral will be held on Tuesday, August 15, from CALLAHAN~FAY~CASWELL Funeral Home, 61 Myrtle Street with a Mass at 10AM in Saint John’s Church, 44 Temple Street. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Visiting Hours are Monday, August 14 from 4 to 7PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Saint John’s Food for the Poor Program, 44 Temple Street, Worcester, 01604.
