Subscription Update Obituary

Margie V. Meeks-Hilton, 65, of Worcester died on May 11, 2023 at UMass Memorial Hospital surrounded by her children.

Born in York, SC, to the late Louvenia (Glenn) Meeks and David Meeks, she grew up in Worcester. She graduated from Doherty Memorial High School in 1976, and attended Quinsigamond Community College. She worked as an early childhood teacher at several childcare centers in Worcester.

She loved to draw, paint, sew, and decorate her home with DIY projects. She was a faithful member of Belmont AME Zion Church, and enjoyed listening to gospel music.

Her family remaining to forever cherish her life include her sons Joseph Hilton, Jr. and David Hilton, and daughter Katrina Hilton, all of Worcester; grandchildren Javiana Hilton, Jevaun Hilton, and Jordyn Hilton, all of Worcester; sisters Elsie Allotey of Worcester, Juanrithia Mason of New Haven, CT and Willie Ann Burris of Clover, SC; brother-in-law Stanley (Maria) Hilton of Worcester, and sisters-in-law Alicia (Garry) Mompoint-Hilton of Worcester and Veda Hilton of Brockton; two aunts Mary Patricia Andrews of Worcester and Eloise Glenn of Tacoma, WA, and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins. She is preceded in death by her husband Joseph Hilton, Sr., brothers Michael Meeks and Napoleon “Bop” Gillian, and sister Barbara Meeks
