Margaret “Peggy” M. Coyne (Cahill) passed away on December 31, 2023 at St. Vincent Hospital in Worcester after a brief illness.

She leaves her husband, Patrick Coyne; two daughters, Karen Bruzdoski and her husband, Bob of Houston TX, and Mary Pasquale of Worcester; a daughter-in-law, Tracy Desovich-Coyne of Framingham; and a sister, Mary McMahon of County Clare, Ireland. She leaves seven grandchildren – Robert, Liam and Sean Bruzdoski, Connor and Katherine Pasquale, and Patrick and James Coyne. She was also a great-grandmother to Robert (“Robbie”) Bruzdoski. She was predeceased by her son, Joseph Coyne and brothers John, James, Joseph and Michael Cahill.

Margaret was born in County Clare, Ireland on September 23, 1933, daughter of the late Daniel and Catherine (Roche) Cahill and lived in London before immigrating to the United States in 1956. Peggy worked as a nurse at Worcester State Hospital, Lincoln Nursing Home and Westboro State Hospital before retiring in 1995. Working as an LPN allowed her to practice her true calling of caring for others. She was a parishioner of St. Bernard and Our Lady of the Rosary Parishes in Worcester, MA.

When her children were young, Peggy enjoyed family vacations with her brother Mike and his family at Hampton Beach. She loved going for walks – whether it be the beach, the Rail Trail or the QCC track. She loved to shop – any store, any time, and enjoyed a good conversation over a cup of tea. Most of all, Peggy loved spending time with her family and grandchildren.

Peggy’s family would like to thank the staff at St. Mary’s Health Care Center where she was showed love, compassion, and kindness during the last three months of her life.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, January 6th at 9:00am in Saint Bernard Church, Our Lady of Providence Parish, 228 Lincoln St. Worcester. There are no calling hours. Please go directly to the church. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park in Paxton, MA.
