Margaret Louise (Power) Matthews, 84, of Worcester, passed away peacefully in her home with her daughter by her side on Saturday, July 16, 2022.
Margaret is survived by a large circle of family and friends, many of whom she was so grateful to spend time with before her passing, a beautiful reminder of how she was truly loved and appreciated.
She was a lifelong citizen, servant, and supporter of her beloved city, Worcester has lost its most loving daughter.
Many will remember her as ‘Peg’, a friend they shared drinks with as they walked the casino. Or if they were lucky enough they will remember her on every cold night as they crawl under one of her beautiful afghans.
Those closest to her will remember her every day, finding little reminders of her everywhere: a butterfly stopping to rest, a cherry cordial, a tall can of Budweiser…she will be missed but she is with us everywhere we go.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 20, at 11 AM in the Worcester County Memorial Park 217 Richards Avenue Paxton. Alfred Roy & Sons Funeral Home 12 Hammond St. Worcester is honored to be assisting the family with arrangements.
