Margaret G. “Peggy” (Picard) Kelley. 95 of Worcester, passed away peacefully with her daughter gathered by her side, Tuesday December 16th 2014, joining in heaven her husband Joseph, daughter Diane and grandson Jay.

Peggy was born in Worcester, the daughter of the late Levi and Flora (Gagnon) Picard. She grew up here, met and married the love of her life, Joseph P Kelley and enjoyed the next 54 years happily married before Joe passed away in 1998.

Peggy worked over 36 years as a sales clerk for the former Ware Pratt Company before retiring.

She is survived by her daughter, Nancy M. Griffis and her husband James; her grandchildren, Melanie Silva, Shawna Erickson, Brooke Mignogna and her husband Louis, Lee Mendeloff- Hill and her husband Steve, Janson Mendeloff, Stanley Griffis and his wife Janet, Scott, Christopher, and Sharon Griffis. Peg also leaves eight wonderful great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren; extended family and friends. Besides her husband Joseph, her daughter, Diane C. Mendeloff passed away in 1994 and grandson, Jay Griffis passed away in 2006.

Peggy was a devoted and active parishioner of the Cathedral of St Paul for over 70 years, during which she formed special friendships with several families. She was an accomplished baker, took great pride in preparing wonderful deserts for church bake sales, special occasions, family gatherings, the holidays and her pokeno group. Peggy and Joe enjoyed visiting Cape Cod, and traveling to Bermuda, Ireland, Alaska and Canada. Her happiest moments were spending time with family and friends.

The Kelley family is deeply grateful to the Staff of the Jewish Healthcare Center and their Hospice team for their outstanding care, compassion and comfort they gave to our mother during a difficult time.

A period of calling hours will be held Thursday, December 18th from 9:00 am to 10:30 am in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St, before proceeding to the Cathedral of St Paul, 15 Chatham St where her funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 am.
