Madeleine Y. (Farrand) Drezek, 81, died Sunday, March 26, at Knollwood Nursing Center, after a long illness.  She is survived by her husband of 60 years, James Drezek, whom she married July 14, 1962.

She also leaves 2 sons: Clifford Drezek and his wife Suzan of Worcester, David Drezek and his wife Chantal of Irmo, SC, and 2 daughters: Lisa and her husband Jerry Ayotte of Charlton, and Jennifer Drezek and her fiancé Matt Pelton of Irmo, SC, and five grandchildren, Cassandra and her husband Slade Shockley of Irmo, SC., Jordyn Drezek and her fiancé Taylor Davis of Greenville, SC., Evan Drezek, Macey Grace and Elizabeth Grace Drezek of Irmo, SC.   She also leaves 2 brothers: Roger Farrand and his wife Margaret of Southbridge, and Leo Farrand and his wife Christine of Bellingham, and many nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by her brother Paul Farrand who died in 2016.

Maddie was born in Southbridge, July 19, 1941, daughter of the late George and Anne Marie (Plante) Farrand and lived most of her life in Southbridge before moving to Rutland. She was a longtime member of Notre Dame Church, and a graduate of the former Maria Assumpta Academy in Petersham.  Maddie was a very good cook.  She was also a very gifted artist.

Sansoucy Funeral Home, 40 Marcy Street, Southbridge, MA is handling funeral arrangements.  Maddie’s Funeral Mass will be Friday, March 31, at 10:30AM in Notre Dame Church, 446 Main Street, Southbridge.  PLEASE MEET DIRECTLY AT CHURCH.  Burial will be private at a later date.  Calling hours in the funeral home will be Thursday, March 30, from 4-6PM.  The family requests in lieu of flowers that you kindly consider making a memorial donation to the Rheumatoid Arthritis Foundation, Help Fight RA, 8815 Conroy Windermere Road, Suite 309, Orlando, FL 32835.
