Mabel E. (Rickey) Mellor -died peacefully after a short illness on February 9,2015 in Southbridge Rehabilitation and Health Care Center. She was born in 1931 in Ware, MA to George & Nellie (Wheeler) Rickey. She grew up in New Salem and lived many years in the Brookfields and Oakham before moving to Southbridge..

Mabel leaves 3 sons Steven G. Mellor & his wife Suzanne, Bruce E. Mellor & his wife Ann all of Southbridge, Douglas B. Mellor & his wife Grace of Chicago, IL. ; 2 daughters Terry L. Fisher & her husband Cliff of Oxford and Bonnie S. Larkin & her husband Michael of Cambridge; a sister Mildred Hare of Stafford Springs, CT.; 10 Grandchildren; 9 Great-grandchildren; several nieces & nephews and her beloved cat Spice.She is predeceased by her husband Edward H. Mellor, a granddaughter Tanya A. Benoit and a brother Robert Wheeler.

She enjoyed word puzzles, jigsaw puzzles, gardening, reading, yard sales and regular visits from her family. She was an avid cribbage player and was always ready for a game.

She was an active member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Brookfield Post of the VFW for many years as well as the Senior Center of Oakham.

Calling hours will be held on Friday, February 13,2015 from 6-8PM in Pillsbury Funeral Home 44 Gilbert Street, North Brookfield . The funeral will be held on Saturday at 1:00PM in the funeral home.
