Lynne M. (Sharleville) Hofford, 54, died peacefully at home surrounded by her family, Saturday evening, June 11, 2016, after a long illness. She leaves her husband of 28 years, Stephen J. “Hoff” Hofford; her parents, Ronald J. and Carolyn M. (Dangredo) Sharleville of Holden; her brother, Ronald J. Sharleville, Jr. and his wife Karla of Douglas; her sister, Diane M. Sharleville of Worcester; her godchild, Nikki Sharleville of Auburn; and her great niece, Isabella Dranginis of Auburn. Her grandmother, Bea Daige and her brother-in-law, Paul “Skinny” Hofford, both predeceased her. She was born and raised in Worcester and graduated from Quinsigamond Community College.

Lynne worked as a dental hygienist at the office of Dr. David Matson in Millbury for many years. She was a member of the American Dental Hygiene Association. She enjoyed visiting the casinos, her cat Cali, vacationing in Aruba, and spending time with her family, especially her great niece, Bella.

She will be remembered for her ability to make friends wherever she went, and to lift people up. On her worst days she could still be a listening ear who offered the best advice. She loved all people, and has a special place in the hearts of so many. Lynne will be loved and missed by all who were blessed to know her.

The family would like to express their most sincere appreciation to Dr. Erica Mayer and Elahe Salehi, N.P., and all the girls on Floor 9 for the compassionate care they provided for Lynne and the family.

CALLING HOURS will be from 5 to 8 P.M. on WEDNESDAY, JUNE 15, in KELLY FUNERAL HOME, 154 Lincoln St. A FUNERAL MASS will be held at 10 A.M. on THURSDAY, JUNE 16, in ST. BERNARD’S CHURCH, 228 Lincoln St., followed by burial in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton, MA.

The family suggests donations in memory of Lynne be made to the Susan F. Smith Center for Women’s Cancers at Dana Farber Cancer Institute, 450 Brookline Avenue, Boston, MA 02215.
