     Lorraine Y. (Noel) Paciello, 80, a longtime resident of Northborough passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 4, 2015 in UMASS Memorial Medical Center with her family by her side.Lorraine is survived by her son Michael A. Paciello, his wife Susan and their two children Shane M. and Anna Lisa, all of New Smyrna Beach, FL; three daughters, Debra A. Zambarano and her two children Nicholas M. and Rachel G. DiVerdi all of Shrewsbury; Sandra M. Gubrud, her husband Mark and their two children Austin J. and Derek M. all of Gilroy, CA and Paula J. Paciello and her two children Scott J. and Amanda J. Campbell all of Nashua, NH. She also leaves the father of her children, Anthony R. Paciello; a brother, Richard D. Noel of Boylston and several nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by a brother, Raymond J. Noel.

Lorraine was born in Worcester the daughter of the late Joseph S. and Ida B. (Sweet) Noel. She was a graduate of Commerce High School. She worked for Hanover Insurance Company for several years as a Senior Computer Operator, and prior to retiring she worked as a Payroll Processor for PayrollPros.

She was an avid bowler in local leagues. She loved to cook large family dinners especially on holidays. She enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles and watching cooking and game shows. Her favorite was Jeopardy. Lorraine also loved to crochet, knit and created many beautiful crewel work pieces. Over the years she collected a vast array of miniature figurines and treasured every one of them. But as a devoted mother and grandmother, her favorite treasures were her children and grandchildren. She will forever be remembered for her quick wit. Her humor never faltered. She was cracking jokes, making everyone laugh right to the very end.

Family, friends, and others whose lives Lorraine touched are invited to calling hours on Wednesday, July 8 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester. Services will be held Thursday, July 9 in the funeral home at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. In lieu of flowers memorial remembrances in her name can be made to the UMASS Medicine Cancer Walk, c/o UMassFIVE College Federal Credit Union, 55 Lake Ave North, Room S1-820, Worcester, MA 01655.
