Subscription Update Obituary

Leonard J. “Lenny” Ward, 91, passed away peacefully on April 7, 2026. He was born on October 1, 1934, to the late Peary C. Ward (1972) and Beatrice E. Ward (1999).

Lenny is survived by his beloved wife, Lois A. Ward of Webster; his three children, Lisa Matta of Maryville, Tennessee, Jeffrey Ward of Lady Lake, FL, and James Ward of Worcester, MA; and his five cherished grandchildren: Sara (McGinnes) Sweeney of Wesley Chapel, FL, Ian McGinnes of Worcester, MA, Heather McGinnes of Maryville, TN, Christian Ward of Cambridge, MA, and Cameron Ward of Cambridge, MA. He also leaves his sister, Lois Auger of Holden, MA; his brother, Kenneth Ward of Worcester, MA; as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his first wife, Jean A. Ward, who passed away in 1996, and his eldest daughter, Lori Cullen, who passed away in 2022.

 A proud graduate of Commerce High School, Class of 1952, Lenny built a long and successful career as an insurance agent and broker, working for 37 years before retiring in 1998.

 Lenny served as a Cubmaster and was a former president of the Joe Schwartz Little League. He also dedicated many years as a Babe Ruth League baseball coach, where he made a lasting impact on countless young athletes.

 In his free time, Lenny enjoyed golfing and traveling-passions that brought him great joy throughout his life.

 Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Lenny’s family from 10:00 am to 11:00 am with a funeral service beginning at 11:00 am on Tuesday, April 14, at the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main St., Holden. Burial will follow at Worcester County Memorial Park, 217 Richards Ave., Paxton.
