Lena M. (Carrelli) Manero, 98, of Holden, formerly of Worcester, passed away in the comfort of her home on Wednesday, June 29, 2022.  She is reunited with her beloved husband, Angelo J. Manero and with her son, Robert P. Manero.

Lena is survived by two daughters, Donna L. Gothelf and her husband Steve of San Francisco, and Susan Manero of Princeton; a son, Charles J. Manero and his wife Diane of West Boylston; four grandchildren, Kellen Joyce of Worcester, Connor Joyce of San Diego, Nicholas Manero of Holden, and Adam Gothelf and his wife Chrissy of San Francisco; a great granddaughter, Reese Gothelf; nieces and nephews.  Lena was predeceased by three brothers and a sister, John, Paul, and Robert Carrelli, and Theresa Abdella.  Lena was born in Worcester, daughter of the late, Pietro and Giuseppina (Spina) Carrelli.  She graduated from Commerce High School.

Lena worked with her husband for many years and served as the President and CEO of Manero Insurance.  She was a life-long member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Parish, now Our Lady of Loreto, the Beato Angelo D’Acri and Our Lady of Sorrows Societies of the church.

Lena enjoyed classical music, painting and drawing and practicing Tai Chi.  She loved to be surrounded by her family and like any loving Italian mother or grandmother, she loved to feed her family, not only with a wonderful meal, but with the love only a mother could share.

Lena’s family would like to thank the wonderful people and caregivers at Jewish Health Center and Jewish Healthcare Hospice.  They also would like to thank the caregivers at Accessible Home Care, especially Nilsa for her daily care and companionship.

A Funeral Mass will be on Friday, July 8, at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of Loreto Church, 33 Massasoit Road, Worcester.  Interment will be held privately at Worcester County Memorial Park.

Friends and Family are invited to gather at the church from 9 a.m. until the Mass begins at 10 a.m., for a time of remembering and sharing.

In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the Robert P. Manero Memorial Fund, Clark University Advancement, 950 Main Street, M-H 3rd floor, Worcester, MA 01610-1477 or to Abby’s House, 52 High Street, Worcester, MA 01609.
