Subscription Update Obituary

    Laurent E. "Larry" Vigneault, 86, of Worcester, died on Saturday, June 12th, 2010 in the Rose Monahan Hospice Residence.

    Mr. Vigneault is survived by his wife of 63 years, Della V. (Lynn) Vigneault; a son, Laurent E. Vigneault of Sutton; a daughter, Suzanne F. Bernier and her husband Robert of Holden; 4 grandchildren, Nicole, Robert, Brent and Lauren; 3 great grandchildren, Zachary, Matthew and Connor and many nephews and nieces. Larry was born in Worcester son of the late Euclid and Helene (Morin) Vigneault and served in the United States Navy during World War II. He is predeceased by 2 brothers, Henry and Emil Vigneault and 2 sisters, Doris Grenier and Alma Jacques Dumaine.

    Mr. Vigneault worked for the City of Worcester Public Schools Department as a school custodian at many local schools for 42 years retiring in 1990 from the Gates Lane Elementary School.

    Larry was a member of the Kights of Columbus Auburn Council #4158 where he was a past Grand Knight and for several years was the Social Director and ran their bingo. Mr. Vigneault was also a 4th Degree Knight and belonged to the Auburn Lodge of Elks #2118 and the Tatnuck American Legion Post #288. He received many awards throughout his career including a key to the City of Worcester in 1991 from the Mayor Jordan Levy.

    The funeral will be held on Wednesday, June 16th from the Alfred Roy & Sons Funeral Home, 12 Hammond St. with a Mass at 10 AM in Our Lady of the Angels Church, 1222 Main St. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Calling hours are on Tuesday, June 15th from 5 to 8 PM in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Rose Monahan Hospice Residence c/o VNA Care Network, 120 Thomas Street, Worcester, MA 01608.
