Laszlo “Larry” Nemeth, 78, of Worcester passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 7, 2023 in UMass Memorial Hospital, University Campus after a courageous 3-year battle with Plasma Cell Leukemia. His wife of 28 years, Lillian E. Nemeth, died in 2011.

Larry was born in Celldomolk, Hungary, the son of Zsigmond and Memma (Fazekas) Nemeth. He emigrated to the Worcester area in the mid-1970’s. He was a skilled machinist and worked for many years at Allied Machine in Worcester.

Larry leaves his three stepsons, Michael (Patricia) DePatie of Rockwood, Maine, Robert DePatie of Jacksonville, NC, and David (Carol) DePatie of Worcester. He also leaves his many friends and fishing buddies, especially Ben and Fran.

Larry was an avid gardener and was generous in sharing the bounty of his gardens with neighbors and friends. His greatest passion was any day spent fishing. He enjoyed freshwater fishing (usually Comet Pond), deep sea fishing, and ice fishing equally.

“God grant that I may live to fish until my dying day. And when it comes to my last cast, I then most humbly pray; When in the Lord’s safe landing net I’m peacefully asleep, That in His mercy I be judged as good enough to keep.”

Burial will be private at Laszlo’s request.
