Subscription Update Obituary

     Katherine V. (Pallas) Labovites, 82, of Worcester formerly of Dennisport and Holden, died Saturday, January 19th in UMASS Memorial Medical Center – Memorial Campus after a brief illness. She leaves her husband, James Labovites, with whom she would have celebrated her 58th wedding anniversary on February 6th; a son, Matthew J. Labovites and his wife, Karen of Holden; a daughter, Joanne E. Isperduli of Worcester; a brother, Chris Pallas and his partner, Fred Goepfert of Rancho Mirage, CA; a sister, Helen Pallas-Viola of Yarmouthport; her niece Penelope Wolosz and her husband Gene, and nephew Theodore Soter. She was predeceased by a sister, Evelyn Soter.
     She was born in Worcester the daughter of George and Cleopatra (Tzioupis) Pallas. Katherine was a member of St. Spyridon Greek Orthodox Cathedral and a member and past president of the former Ladies Guild at St. Spyridon. Katherine will be remembered as a devoted wife, loving mother and caring aunt. After her retirement as a medical secretary in 1987, Katherine enjoyed travel with her husband. Mrs. Labovites had lived in Holden for 25 years, retired to Cape Cod and spent 18 years in Dennisport before returning to Worcester in 2006.
     Her funeral is Wednesday, January 23rd from O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue with a service at 11:00 AM in St. Spyridon Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 102 Russell Street. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Calling hours are Tuesday, January 22nd from 5:00 until 8:00 PM in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Worcester County Food Bank, 474 Boston Turnpike Road, Shrewsbury, MA 01545.
