Her husband, Kenneth Brown, died in 1995.

Joyce was a graduate of Clark University, was employed at several local businesses, and retired from Riley Stoker Company in 1996 after 25 years as a Senior Contract Administrator.

She was an active member of Greendale People’s Church, singing in the choir and the Grace Notes women’s chorus, hand bell ringing, and serving on various committees. She also served her condo association as a trustee, and was active in the Lake Quinsigamond Watershed Association. She enjoyed traveling in this country and abroad and, after retiring, volunteered at Mechanics Hall and RSVP.
