Joyce O’Toole passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 5, 2015 at Charlene Manor in Greenfield, MA. She was 76 years old.
Joyce was born on July 24, 1938 to Dwight Clark & Alice Sanders Clark in Worcester and grew up in Shrewsbury. She graduated from Howard Beal H.S. in 1956 and studied Music Education at Lowell State College. She married Ronald O’Toole in 1967 and moved to Worcester where she lived for many years and worked for several companies, most notably for the Performing Arts School of Worcester and Music Worcester.
Joyce loved all aspects of the performing arts, was an avid music lover and was a percussionist for the Thayer Symphony Orchestra as well as a Dixieland Jazz band. She actively volunteered in her community with her husband Ronald, some organizations included the Worcester Vikings Pop Warner league, Fair Share (an equal housing group), C.Y.C., the M.O.V.E. Organization at Memorial Hospital and her favorite, the Forum Theater running the box office and helping to put on outdoor events at Bancroft Tower, Green Hill Park & East Park. Joyce could often be heard singing a song or playing the piano or drums.
She was predeceased by her husband Ronald O’Toole in 1989, her parents, and her brother, Robert Clark. She is survived by her daughter Traci O’Toole-Foley, her husband Mike & son Ronan of VT; her daughter Terri O’Toole, her wife Kelly, and son Andrew of MA; her step children Timothy O’Toole, his wife Judy & daughters Hanna & Belle of NH, Tammi O’Toole-Smalley, her husband James & sons Samuel & Benjamin of NH, Todd O’Toole, his wife Michelle, son Owen, & daughter Amelia of CO; and her brother Roger Clark, his wife Mary Beth of MA, as well as many nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held at 11am Saturday, April 11, 2015 at the Worcester County Memorial Park, 217 Richards Ave., Paxton, followed by a reception at noon at Tweeds Restaurant on Grove St. in Worcester.
