Subscription Update Obituary

     Joy Edyth Plante, 88 of Fort Myers, Florida, passed away peacefully Sunday, January 19, 2020 at Lee Memorial Hospital.

The daughter of Louis and Gunhild (Granfors) Barber, born November 14, 1931 in Worcester, Massachusetts. A graduate of Commerce High School and Salter Secretarial School in Worcester, MA, she met and married Richard (Dick) N. Plante of Biddeford, Maine in 1954. As co-owner of Plante’s Auto Body in Spencer, Massachusetts, she handled business finances and family responsibilities until their retirement to Gilford, New Hampshire and Fort Myers, Florida in 1985.

In her retirement years, she enjoyed companionship with family and friends, traveling, boating, playing cards, and casino trips, shuffleboard, and many other events with her friends in the Thunderbird Retirement Community of Fort Myers, Florida.

She is predeceased in death by her parents, a brother Donald F Barber and late husband of 62 years Richard N Plante. She is survived by her three daughters, Darlene Wolcott and spouse Brian of Charlton, MA, Denise Burnham and spouse Bruce of Conroe, TX and Nadine Morancy of Spencer, MA and five Grandchildren, Crystal Morancy of Fitchburg, MA, Christopher Wolcott and spouse Benjamin of Danville, NH, Timothy Wolcott and spouse Lesli of Charlton, MA, Jeffery Wolcott and fiancé Micaela Hamilton of Charlton, MA, and Michelle Jones and spouse Samantha of Conroe, TX and two Great-grandchildren, Keeghan and Benjamin Morancy-Ohrenberger of Fitchburg, MA.

Services and internment will be at Worcester County Memorial Park in Paxton, Massachusetts at the convenience to the family in the spring.
