Subscription Update Obituary

Joseph R. Mattus, 80, passed away peacefully Tuesday, September 20, 2022 in St. Vincent Hospital.

Born in Worcester son of the late Joseph and Ellen Ruth Mattus.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Theresa (Mailea) Mattus, his son’s Robert of Millbury and Michael and his wife, Melissa of Lunenburg, a brother, William of Penneville, NY, seven grandchildren; Elyssa and Kristopher Mellen, Cameron, Kailey and Colin Mattus, Michaela O’Brian and Julia Mattus, two great grandchildren; Kristopher and Benjamin Mellen, son in law, Scott Mellen and daughter in law, Sharon Mattus.  He was predeceased by his daughter Tracy Mellen.

He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather, never missing a recital, gymnastic meet or sporting event.

Joe loved ALL sports.  He retired to play golf, rarely missing a day on the links.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Joe’s life with a time of visitation on Sunday September 25th from 4 to 7pm in Mulhane Home for Funerals 45 Main Street, Millbury.

His Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, September 26th at Noon in St. Brigid Church, 59 N. Main Street in Millbury.  Burial will follow in Paxton.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be sent to St. Vincent DePaul Society of St. Brigid Church, P.O. Box 420, Millbury MA 01527.
