     Joseph F. Chimento, 63 of Worcester, passed away suddenly on Thursday, June 28, 2018 at home.Joseph was born in Calabria, Italy and raised in Worcester, a son of the late Giorgio and Maria Nancy (Gencarelli) Chimento.  He was an automotive mechanic for over 20 years for various dealerships in Worcester and he later worked for the City of Worcester’s Department of Public Works for 14 years before his retirement.  Joe’s interests included an infatuation with classic cars and taking long walks along the Quabbin Reservoir.

Joseph is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Julie Ann (Messina) Chimento; two brothers, Elio and Mario Chimento; a sister, Christina Laramie all of Worcester; many nieces and nephews.

Services for Joseph will be held privately. MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St., Worcester is honored to be assisting the family with arrangements.  Contributions in memory of Joseph, can be made to: American Heart Association, 300 5th Avenue, Suite 6, Waltham, MA 02451
