Joseph C. White, 78, of Pleasantdale Rd. died Tuesday, November 16, 2010 in his residence surrounded by his family after a long illness.
He leaves his wife of 46 years, Harriet (McBride) Stoddard White; a stepson, Michael Stoddard Jr. formerly of Rutland now of Brookfield, VT; two grandchildren, Kelly Mullen & her husband Jack and Michael Stoddard Jr. all of Rutland; two great grandchildren, Timothy Kenda and Emma Mullen; a sister, Helen A. Cardinale of North Brookfield; several nieces & nephews. He was predeceased by his sister Barbara Fountain.
Joseph was born in Worceser the son of Joseph F. & Cora (Ivashek) White and lived in North Brookfield until 1960 when he moved to Rutland. He was a life long car salesman & enthusiast. He worked for Kelly Buick and Gallo Oldsmobile retiring in 1997.
A memorial service for Joseph will be held on Saturday, November 27, 2010 at 11:00 AM in the First Congregational Church, 264 Main St., Rutland. Burial will be private for the family in Worcester County Memorial Park in Paxton. Omit flowers. Donations may be made in his name to the Rutland Fire Brigade, 240 Main St., Rutland, MA 01543. Pillsbury Funeral Home, 44 Gilbert St., North Brookfield is directing arrangements.
