Subscription Update Obituary

     Joseph Alfred LaJeunesse Jr was born on March 15, 1934 in Worcester, MA he was a son of the late Joseph A. and Doris (Dunn) LaJeunesse. He leaves his wife of 58 years, Florence O. (Bedard) LaJeunesse, two sons, Stephen G. and his wife Brenda of Indialantic, FL, Joseph A. III and his wife Sophia of Hollis, N.H. and one daughter Diane M. Majcher wife of Mark P. Majcher of Hollis, N.H.

Five grandchildren: Jared Majcher, Samantha (Majcher) Hyde and her husband John Hyde, Nicholas, Athena and Jacob LaJeunesse; as well as many nieces and nephews.

He leaves four sisters, Doris LaJeunesse of Dennis, Audrey Fitch of West Brookfield, Elinor Sundeen of Pennsylvania and Nancy Mattress of Florida. He was predeceased by his brother Herbert, and a sister Joyce.

Joseph was a Worcester Firefighter for 33 years before retiring in July of 1993. He graduated from Commerce High School and Quinsigamond Community College with an Associate’s degree in Fire Science. He was a member of the Worcester Fire Relief and the Worcester County Retired Firefighters.

He served in the Army during the Korean War.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Worcester Firemen’s Relief Association, 141 Grove St., Worcester, MA 01605.

Viewing hours will be held on Saturday, April 21st from 11:30 to 12:30 p.m. at the Doane Beal & Ames Funeral Home, 729 Rt. 134 South Dennis, MA. A Funeral Mass will follow at Our Lady of the Cape Church, 468 Stony Brook Rd., Brewster, MA. His interment will take place on Monday, April 23rd at 11 a.m. in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton, MA.
