Jon Strout Greene, 71, of Worcester, died Friday, February 26, 2016.

He leaves his wife of 50 years, Donna J. (Adams) Greene; three daughters, Lisa Ovitt and her husband Michael of Sheffield; Sherri G. Pitcher and her husband David of Worcester, and Michelle Boulay of Holden; six grandchildren, Alexis and Jonathan Ovitt, Hailee and Stephen Pitcher, and Emma and Sadie Boulay; a brother, James Greene and his wife Lucille of Sturbridge; two sisters, Linda Decker and her husband Paul, and Debra Haire, all of Dudley; his mother-in-law, Jean Adams of Worcester; and many nieces and nephews.

Jon was born in Dexter, Maine, son of Delbert and Marjorie (Strout) Greene. He grew up in Worcester and lived 20 years in West Boylston before returning to Worcester in 1991.

Jon was a graduate of North High School and the former Worcester Junior College, and served in the Massachusetts Army National Guard.

Jon was a Product Engineer in the Diamond Abrasives Division of Norton Co., now Saint-Gobain, where he worked for 44 years.

When not spending time with the family he loved so much, Jon and Donna enjoyed golfing throughout Massachusetts and were both active members at Green Hill Golf Course in Worcester. He also enjoyed his weekly golf outings with his friends, the Nomads.

Jon touched the hearts of everyone who knew him.

The entire family would like to thank the staff at Saint Vincent Hospital in the Critical Care Center for the compassionate care Jon and all of us received.

The funeral will be Thursday, March 3, from the funeral home with a Mass at 10 a.m. in Immaculate Conception Church, 353 Grove St., Worcester.
