John S. Dubsky died peacefully on Wednesday, June 20, 2012, at Beaumont Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing Center. John was born in Worcester to Charles and Mary (Kosinski) Dubsky on January 8, 1917. John was a graduate of Worcester Boys Trade School and a veteran in WWII serving in the Navy.
John had a long career as a machinist working at the former Heald Machine, Telechron, and Indiana Screw Machine Products. The skills he learned at school and throughout his career were not only handy for use at work. John was the definition of a “Mr. Fixit” handy man. When someone needed something fixed, he always had the tools and knowledge to get the job done in no time. He was a loving and generous man who was always willing to lend a hand. John was a founding member of Saint Joan of Arc Church. His hobbies included golf, hunting, and fishing. He was a long-time member of Rice Meadow Fly Fishing Club. He was also a member of the American Legion Main South Post and the Polish American Veterans.
John is predeceased by his wife of 53 years, Grace (Delage) Dubsky, who died in 1996. John is also predeceased by brothers Stephen, Anthony, and Frank Dubsky, and sisters Josephine Conroy, Millie Diggins, and Mae, Helen, and Jenny Dubsky. He is also predeceased by his beloved grandson Jared Z. Dubsky who passed away in 2009.
John is survived by his sons James Dubsky of Bangkok, Thailand and John S. Dubsky Jr. and his wife Pauline of Oxford. He is also survived by his daughter Pamela (Dubsky) Nelson and her husband Paul of Worcester. John also leaves 5 grandchildren, Jennifer Medeiros and her husband Paul, Jessica Kasprzak and her husband Michael, Joshua Dubsky and his wife Monique, Jerrika Dubsky, and Justina Dubsky. He also leaves 5 great grandchildren, Trinity and Cadence Medeiros, Brooke and Logan Kasprzak, and Zachary Dubsky. John is also survived by his brothers Joseph and Edward Dubsky as well as several nieces, nephews, and friends.
The family would like to express their gratitude to all staff at Beaumont Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing Center and a special thanks to his long-term caregivers Sherry and Alicja.
Calling hours will be held at Nordgren Memorial Chapel, 300 Lincoln Street, Sunday, June 24, from 4-7pm. The funeral will be held from Nordgren Memorial Chapel on Monday, June 25 with a 10am Mass at Saint Joan of Arc, 570 Lincoln Street. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton.
