Subscription Update Obituary

     John “Jack” J. Kapish, 69, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 10, 2018 at UMass Memorial Medical Center after a brief illness. Born in Worcester and raised in Spencer, John was the son of the late Anthony and Mary (Fraser) Kapish and lived 12 years in Holden before moving to The Ledges in Hopedale and then Beaumont at Northborough four years ago.

John was a graduate of David Prouty High School in Spencer and worked many years at Hahnemann Hospital and UMass Medical Center both in Worcester. He enjoyed listening to music and following the Boston Red Sox and the New England Patriots.

His beloved wife of ten years, Maureen C. (Matthews) Kapish died in 1995. He will be lovingly missed and remembered by his sister, Judy Hannum and her husband, Marc of Boylston; two nieces, Stephanie Hannum of New Bedford and Elizabeth Hannum of Beaverton, Oregon; and his aunt and godmother, Rita Kapish of Holden.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with John’s family from 10 to 11:30 am on Thursday, February 15, at the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main St., Holden, followed by a funeral service honoring his life at 11:30 am. Interment will be take place at Worcester County Memorial Park in Paxton. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 10 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701.
